We are pleased to inform you that after many years Pantanassa Monastery is finally in a position to make available in digital format Scripture Lessons for classes starting from Kindergarten to year 7.
Pantanassa Monastery (previously, Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration of our Lord) has coordinated this project for over 20 years in order to produce this curriculum for Scripture classes. Theologians, teachers, Sunday school teachers, graphic artists and IT persons have been involved in the project. Currently the curriculum amounts to over 1000 pages and covers 8 years of curriculum content.
The curriculum content is available in two formats. The first curriculum is thematic, for example one year is dedicated to Life of Christ another year follows the Old Testament. The second curriculum consists of the same lessons but arranged with a variety of themes for each year.
The Scripture Lessons are available to be downloaded free of charge for whoever is interested in using them. They would be suitable for:
Teaching in Infants, Primary and Secondary classes;
Sunday Schools; and
Home Christian Education by Parents for their Children etc.
The Scripture Lesson is an ongoing project that can always do with improvement. If you have any suggestions or corrections for us we would be very grateful for the feedback.
The Monastery has only one request and that is that wherever the Scripture Lesson Materials are used they clearly indicate that copyright belongs to the Greek Orthodox Monastery of Pantanassa.

During the 1990s, through an initiative of our Monastery designed to assist and more fully inform those working in the Afternoon Schools, books were written, published and distributed, which were summaries of the school books of the OAED on topics such as History–Mythology, Ancient History, Modern Greek History and the Geography of Greece, which are offered completely free of charge to the Greek Afternoon Schools, with the embellishment of relevant questions and a series of sketches and photographs.
This project was made possible through special funding towards our School Committee at that time provided by the 'NSW Department of Education and Youth Affairs – Ethnic Schools Programme', which covered half of the total costs. The remaining expenses were paid by our holy Monastery.
The entire process (organisation, authoring, printing and supervision of the project) was undertaken by our holy Monastery. The development, corrections and editing of the texts were carried out by philologists-teachers of the Education Office within the Greek Consulate of Sydney, together with members of our School Committee.
With great pleasure, we provide them free of charge to any interested person or organisation who would like to to utilise them in the sacred task of TEACHING THE GREEK LANGUAGE to Greek Orthodox Children within our community. This was the only purpose of the entire endeavour, although it was never properly acknowledged by those who were responsible at that time.
We therefore request that there be a corresponding and appropriate reference to the origins of these materials whenever they are used.

PS. Since 1995, following our Monastery’s move to its current address, it was renamed by His Eminence our Archbishop as the ‘Holy Monastery of Pantanassa’. However, our church building in Sydney retained the name ‘The Transfiguration of the Lord’ and became a Parish under that name.

Κατά την δεκαετία του 90α με πρωτοβουλία της Μονής μας, για τη βοήθεια και την πληρέστερη ενημέρωση των εργαζομένων στα Απογευματινά Σχολεια, έγινε η συγγραφή, έκδοση και κυκλοφορία βιβλίων, τα οποία είναι περίληψη των σχολικών βιβλίων του ΟΑΕΔ, της Ιστορίας–Μυθολογίας, Αρχαίας Ιστορίας, Ελληνικής Ιστορίας Των Νεοτέρων Χρόνων, και Γεωργαφίας Ελλαδος, που προσφέρονται εντελώς δωρεάν προς τα Ομογενειακά Απογευματινά Σχολεία, εμπλουτισμένων με σχετικές ερωτήσεις και σειρά σκίτσων και φωτογραφιών.
Η εργασία έγινε δυνατή κατόπιν ειδικής χορηγήσεως προς την τότε Σχολική μας Επιτροπή από το 'NSW Department of Education and Youth Affairs – Ethnic Schools Programme', η οποία εκάλυψε το ήμισυ του κόστους της όλης εργασίας. Τα υπόλοιπα έξοδα εκάλυψε η Ιερά μας Μονή.
Την όλη διαδικασία (οργάνωση, συγγραφή, εκτύπωση και παρακολούθηση της όλης εργασίας) ανέλαβε η Ιερά μας Μονή. Η αναπτυξη, διορθώσεις και βελτίωση των κειμένων έγιναν από καθηγητές φιλολόγους του Γραφείου Εκπαιδευτικού Συμβούλου Του Γενικού Προξενείου του Συδνευ και από μέλη της Σχολικής μας Επιτροπής.
Ευχαρίστως τα διαθέτουμε σε κάθε ενδιαφερόμενο φορέα, που θα επιθυμούσε να τα χρησιμοποιήσει στο ιερό έργο ΤΗΣ ΔΙΔΑΣΚΑΛΙΑΣ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗΣ ΓΛΩΣΣΑΣ στα Ελληνορθόδοξα βλαστάρια της Παροικίας μας. Αυτός ήταν ο ένας και μοναδικός σκοπός της όλης προσπάθειας, ο οποίος δεν αναγνωρίστηκε τότε επαρκώς από τους τότε αρμόδιους.
Παρακαλούμε, οσάκις χρησιμοποιούνται τα εν λόγω βοηθήματα, να γίνεται η σχετική και πρέπουσα αναφορά της προέλευσης αυτών.
Ευχόμαστε πλούσια την ευλογία του Κυρίου για τους κόπους και τις θυσίες που καταβάλλετε για την εθνική τούτη προσπάθεια της διδασκαλίας της Ελληνικής γλώσσας στα παιδιά μας.
Ευλογημένη Σχολική χρονιά να έχετε.
ΙΕΡΑ ΜΟΝΗ ΠΑΝΤΑΝΑΣΣΗΣ
Υ.Γ. Από το 1995, μετά τη μετακίνηση της Μονής μας στην παρούσα μας διεύθυνση, μετωνομάσθη από τον Σεβασμιώτατον Αρχιεπισκοπό μας «ΙΕΡΑ ΜΟΝΗ ΠΑΝΑΓΙΑΣ ΤΗΣ ΠΑΝΤΑΝΑΣΣΗΣ». Ο Ιερός μας ναός στο Σύδνευ διετήρησε το όνομα «ΜΕΤΑΜΟΡΦΩΣΗ ΤΟΥ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ» και μετετράπη σε Ενορία με το αυτό όνομα.
